Traditional acupuncture involves the use of very fine, disposable needles of varying lengths and widths for application to different points on the skin, based on a person's symptoms, illnesses and health problems.
Acupuncture sessions are performed by an acupuncturist, who can be a doctor, physiotherapist or occupational therapist and does not require anesthesia, as the needles are extremely fine and the application is carried out using precise techniques.
